» Engage Trainees

Hand out office toys to training session attendees to keep them focused on the presentations. It is well known
that people’s attention span increases if they have something to manipulate in their fingers. The key is to give trainees quiet toys that
are hand-sized and fun. Tangles
are our most popular item for this purpose. The use of toys breaks people out of the sit and listen mode and encourages more participation
and engagement with the training materials.
» Rewards and Recognition

Award training attendees who win contests or who perform at the top of their class. A variety of products will work,
check out the dartboard and gumball machine categories. Hand out
smaller items, (happy huggerz or animal
clips) to all participants who arrive to the training on time (in the morning
and after lunch and other breaks).
» Props and Games

Use office toys as props to support your lessons. For example, use an affirmation
ball to reinforce positive customer service behavior. Trainers know that adults, like kids, learn well through games. Try using desk toys
during your training games. Many students learn best by "doing" something. Toys are simply a fun way to add the
"doing" aspect into training.
» Seating Arrangements

Use toys to arrange seating. As participants enter, give out different objects (such as a
bite
me clip, rainbow
spring, and magic
ring). People need to sit at the table that has the same toys. This
is a great way to mix people up and encourage networking.
» Reinforce Key Points

Use themed office toys to reinforce key ideas from lessons. Trainees will be reminded of important messages long after the
training session has ended. For example, a Happy Face Stress Ball will remind customer service representatives
to always have a smile on their face when talking to customers.

program.
Tangled Trainees
A trainer often purchases tangles
for her training sessions to keep students from fidgeting during
presentations and to increase their attention span.
Right on Target
To reinforce a training lesson, a customer handed out over 100 executive
dart boards to
participants.
