Wind Up Toys Help Make Office Workdays More Fun

The classic wind up toy has been around since the late 15th century! Originally they were intended only for royalty, and were much more elaborate. Some of them were life-sized! When interest in elaborate wind-up machine art started to wane, they became known as tin wind up toys and started to become mass produced in the 1800s. Wind-up toys lost popularity in the 1960's with the invention of the small, inexpensive Alkaline battery, which could power toys without a wind-up mechanism.
