SPINE: Neoprene Spine (the same durable material use in making wet suits).
RIBS: Stainless streel ribs clipped into the spine.
BEADS: Nova style beads, 18mm opaque iridescent reflective round beads, with all the colors of the rainbow on each bead. (Its look is something like the sheen caused by oil on water).
MOVEMENT: Movement is generated by a small white motor.
MOTOR: The motor takes 3 AA batteries (not included). The motor has an on/off switch. The motor is designed to run for less than a second, then hibernate for over a minute; this efficiently powers the helix and provides long battery life.
